Kaunas is a very nice city in Lithuania, the first time I saw this city was on the website of Ryanair as a new destination, the ticket was real cheap so I decided to fly to this city and to see whatever there is to see. Unprepared didn’t know what to expect as it was my first time to Lithuania and other than Vilnius I didn’t know much other cities that I could name. Kaunas is nice place to spend a few days, really a good place for a budget traveller. The bars, restaurants, shops, souvenirs everything is not expensive at all. Allot of different kinds of churches is what you will see in Kaunas, I even went on a rooftop of a big white modern church from which I had a view over all Kaunas. Nice long pedestrian streets that lead you to many eating places and coffee bars. Some of the places are near the old Town square with the City Hall and wedding palace. When I was there in July 2011 there were many local couples getting married and also Russians. Big limousines and Rolls Royce’s parked outside the wedding palace and I was watching it all from a bar while enjoying some local beer.
