Back in 2010, in the summer low-cost Airline Ryanair had its first connection from Charleroi Belgium to Riga the capital of Latvia. I didn’t have much plans for the summer holiday so I decided to book a ticket to Latvia and visit my first Baltic country. When visiting the Baltic states people tend to visit all 3 of them at once. After Latvia, a year later in 2011 I visited Lithuania and a year after that Estonia on a daytrip from Helsinki with the ferry. I only spend time in the Old Town across the bridge where the touristic sites are.
It’s easy to walk around in the Old Town, you don’t need a map, everything is nearby.
The charming architectural buildings, the many churches and the little streets, some with cobbled stones makes it a place worth just wandering around.
