Being a fan of football club Lazio since I was a kid following the Italian Seria A on tv every sunday on Raiuno, I always wanted to go see a Rome derby at the stadio Olympico between SS Lazio and AS Roma. What better opportunity to see the derby game and visit the city of Rome with all its sightseeings at the same time.
What I like so much in Rome were the little bars were you can get all different slices of pizza to take away or to eat at the spot, with a cappuccino or a shot of sambuca.
Rome is expensive for example a simple cheese and ham sandwich costs 5 euros everywhere while in Brussels you can get it for half price. Beer is more expensive than wine, I paid 5 euros in a bar for 1 beer, same price at the football stadium, so if you in company with 2 more people and yourself, you spend already 15 euros, it’s too much, really the most disappointing thing about the city trip to Rome is that everything is expensive. Anyway I’m on a citytrip and I want to see something so I headed first towards the Colosseum, went on a tour inside and afterwards I walked through the old ruins of the Forum Romanum. My favorite building in Rome is the Altare della Patria “Il Vittoriano” at the Piazza Venetia, it’s an immense white building really close to the Forum Romanum.
Trevi fountain, Piazza Del Popolo and Piazza di Spagna with the Spanish steps are just some other places I’ve visited.
In the evening I went to see the football game at the Stadio Olympico and I was happy my team won with 3-0. A great end of a nice citytrip.
