Kuala Lumpur the Capital of Malaysia, the hub of Air Asia, the airline which makes it possible to fly to many countries in Asia, with good connections through Kuala Lumpur.
Kuala Lumpur is a very big city, there is not so much to visit is what I have read but I think it’s ok, it all depends what you want to do. Since I was a short time there, I met up with a friend who lives in this city and I just went with the flow. First I tried a fruit I have never tried before in my life, Durian, it looks like a pineapple but it isn’t, it’s much bigger and to be honest it was not my taste, nevertheless it was a great experience to try this popular Malaysian fruit. It’s just funny to me that it’s called the king of fruits while I have never heard of this fruit in my life untill I visited Malaysia.
I tried nasi lemak in a popular restaurant by the locals. I was the only European there and eating with the locals was a fun experience, cause the food was spicy to me but not to them, I was asking myself how do they eat this without drinking regularly.
The Petronas towers are the most popular attraction in Kuala Lumpur, but I decided not to go up to the bridge connecting the two towers, instead I went to the KL Tower from which you also have a great view over the city and it’s not crowded at all. As a matter of fact I was the only one up there and some other Asian couple.
Not so far outside KL I visited the Batu Caves, at the moment I arrived it’s started to rain heavily for about 15 minutes, climbing up the many steps to the cave wasn’t that easy with an umbrella in my hand. The Cave wasn’t that spectacular, I have seen better but it was more to escape the city that I wanted to visit this place. I had fun when I saw a monkey getting away with someone’s bottle of ice-tea, it made my day.
Back in the city I made a walk downtown in the Colonial district where you have a nice park in front of the City hall. I wouldn’t mind going back to Kuala Lumpur again !

You have some great shots… Wasn’t a great fan of KL it was ok but didn’t offer so much. Nice to see other peoples views on it

I liked Kuala Lumpur but it’s not a city to spend a full week in if you compare it to Bangkok for example.
In future I might visit some other parts of Malaysia but then I will only land at the airport of KUL without going to the city again, cause I have seen it now.
