Sofia

My trip to Eastern Europe through Moldova and Rumania brought me to Sofia the Capital of Bulgaria. I took the night train from Bucurest to Sofia.

My time in Sofia was short, 1,5 day to be precisely. Visited some of the main sights like the Orthodox Alexander Nevski Cathedral which is one of the biggest in Europe.
other sights included : St. Nedelya church,Sofia Statue, the Russian Nikolai church,Sveta Georgi Rotunda,Banya Bashi Mosque,…

  1. Hope you get to spend more time in Bulgaria next time around – and that you have the opportunity to see more than Sofia. The mountains, rivers, Black Sea, caves, and other natural spots are wonderful, and there is also the archeology, history, cuisine, and great towns (Koprivshtitza, Triavna, Melnik, Balchik, Nessebar, etc., etc.) to explore.

    • Hi Risa,

Thanks for your comment, its the first comment I get on any of my writings on this young blog that I started not so long ago. I will surely come back to Bulgaria and visit more of it.
